Heart Out of Water

Turbulent tides surrounding me
In the midst of the setting sun
I feel compelled to finally say
That our connection is severed and done
My heart is breaking
But should that surprise you?
For the water has receded
Leaving my shattered heart in view
Never imagined it could be like this
Exposed like a cold winters night
The sun is setting now
Feeling the cold winters bite
So now you want to leave
Your carelessness so humble
My frozen heart now frozen
Starts to break and crumble
This being the unfortunate way
To settle our lovers’ quarrel
My heart sinks ever slowly
Towards the abyssal sea floor
