Starlight Road
Twilight Skies in my thoughts
As I remember the past
Such bittersweet contemplation
I wish those times could last
I remember those memories
Floating through starlit skies
I’m saddened to see those times end
But I’ll regrettably wave them good bye
I hope that galaxies you find are brighter
They are really hard not to miss
Know that you always have my heart
I’ve infused it with a kiss
As hard as it is to realize
I have to release this load
I forever wish you the best of luck
As I leave this starlight road
A Butterflies Light
I’ve watched your change happen
Seen your doubt begin to slow
To think what you were yesterday
What you were a year ago
It’s crucial that I let you go
Leave my hindrances behind
You are transforming
And in that sense I am blind
I walk the path alone I guess
And wait for you to emerge
From your cocoon; your thoughts
And finally feel that surge
In the forest I walk alone
Yet something I catch by sight
You’re ethereal, are you really here
Your wings infused in light
You flutter ahead of me
Balancing out your flight
I can’t help but follow you
Your endeavor delights
Watching you let go of the doubt
Nervousness held in that cocoon
Was all I could ask of you
On this quiet night in June
So immerse me in the light
The enables you to fly
And I will join your journey
For perfection in the sky
