Traversing the Mountain Valley
Running through these lifeless hills
The chilling wind at my back
I’m suppressing my unknown fears
As I recover from your attack
I remember when life was easy
Or perhaps deceivingly so
Your vines try to reinvite me
For my sake, I must let you go
There is a light at the end of all this
All my certainty suppresses my doubt
My future rides on my recovery
One day soon, I’ll get out
The Morning sun is dawning now
Darkness no longer severe
The courage I need to escape this maze
Has been hidden but always here
Soon the answers will be clear
And although the ground might shake
I forever keep running understanding
This resolve keeps me wide-awake
Revitalize
Being brought up in this world
If not to fail, then succeed
Life comes hard, blow after blow
Many contenders concede
Morals and values just guidelines
In a world filled with mistakes
I want to strive for perfection
This keeps me wide awake
Pain that’s felt like knives
Has been my only driving force
And perseverance, in hiding
Has been one very powerful source
The hardest thing for me to grasp
Was that love could disappear
The feeling left after the break
One step less sincere
Writing for me breaks the chains
A healthy new frontier
Belief within myself and friends
Wipe away all my tears
Revitalize my heart and soul
So I can finally feel
The powerful of faith working
A force I know always heals
Perfect Corruption
Nightly walks among dead streets
Unravel confusion, Am I to blame
Each step shows deception; deceit
Dare adversity show in his name?
Wandering eyes fade from view
Destruction spreads from the streets of town
Impressionable minds; monkey see, monkey do
Common sense then powers down
Fun for a few but scars shine through
Heavy and dense stupidity
Tell me one idea and return my life
Didn’t expect this humidity
Corruption forms in the eyes of angels
All that’s grey separates into black and white
No blurring the line of evil
Down to the last second it conforms
Protect yourself in times peace
A funny question you ask?
Until security takes a breech
You notice that all hope has passed
Special Friendship
A friendship is special
Like the rare blue moon
A friendship is comforting
Like a warm day in June
A friendship is trusting
Like a lock with a key
A friendship is soothing
Like the waves at sea
A friendship is valuable
Like a diamond in the rough
A friendship is like water
Possession is enough
A friendship is flexible
Like plastic or metal
A friendship is beautiful
Like the last flower petal
A friendship is gentle
Like feathers of a bird
A friendship is a masterpiece
Hard work is preferred
A friendship is enduring
Like the body and soul
A friendship is forever free
You have the control
Friendship to me is having you
Forever trusting and forever true
Quiet Acceptance
Death is here in our final hour
Ding!! Ding!!
How our will is drained of power
What silent songs angels sing
Only fate knows not of death
Its slow and settling dance
Vitality takes one last breath
As we accept our final trance
Time plays out the duration
Then waits at our heels
Safety from all temptation
The wind and poisoned meals
One last thought before the lights go out
I’ve seen the truth and have no doubt
Angelic Hope in Reach
The burden of life itself
Set upon the shoulders of an angel
Each step a painful reminder
Of a neglect in constant form
A forgotten smile lost in time
Abyssal darkness engulfed hope
No one could envision each impact
Envision each entrancing loss
Envision what became a memory
Long was many a night
Walking with this ever wearing force
Not requested or wanted by her
“The world is just as corrupted as the
last man who thinks that perfection
is easily in reach”
Over the abyssal plain a weakness is discovered
Her tears from each severed heart and atrocity committed
Fall from her angelic eyes to the desolate ground
This purity from a heart not riddled with sin and deceit
Has a power so profound it is in itself hope
With this the sun can shine through the darkness
The doves of promise can finally take wing and be free
Driving Force
The Past, like winter
Hitting without warning
Longing to escape its pull
Falling down and staying down
Love, anger, sadness
All emotions of the past
I loved you
Added fuel for past’s attack
All hits home so quickly
My longing to escape the past
Yet today and tomorrow block me
I want to dissipate, vanish without a trace
Into the dark void, a timeless state
Where I can forever dwell
On what was and what isn’t
The driving force in my life
Evacuate, escape, and drop out
Lake of Remembrance
Deep in the valley of memories
Over the old wooden fence
Lay waters of past thoughts
The lake of Remembrance
As one would stare into the water
Their past would start to glow
With faith in the waters powers
Vivid pictures would begin to show
This lake was one of elegance
The hills to set the scene
Wheat filled pastures standing still
The grass a vibrant green
Legends say the water could heal
The blind, deaf, and weak
Restore strength to those who couldn’t walk
And voice to those who couldn’t speak
One day a lonely stranger found this lake
And to his very surprise
One glance at this very lake
Was enough to open his eyes
Blind to his mind was a past filled with joy
Clouded with doubt and abuse
With all the pain and hurt felt in the present
Was this lake to any use
This lake had finally opened the eyes
Of a man who thought all was lost
With nothing else to lose or gain
This visit was worth the cost
Plans to out this special lake
Were tossed inside his head
Yet fates connection to this day
Had left this idea dead
Deep in the valley of memories
Over the old wooden fence
Laid waters of past thoughts
The lake of Remembrance
