Evening Majesty
It’s been a very long day
Being on the lake in my canoe
I had the strength to endure time
For now, I’ve seen it through
A campfire to end the day
And view the mountaintops gleam white
Should be a wonderful sight
When the moon comes out tonight
My cobblestone cabin with lights aglow
Filling each room with love
I’ve been blessed by god himself
From the heavens and skies above
Evening Majesty is just a small pleasure
I enjoy every single day
With my wife sitting beside me
We watch god put on wondrous display
Another day has come to an end
I’m sad to see it go
I’ll never understand his purpose
That’s all I really know
Twilight Cottage
Twilight Cottage
By Aaron Rowe
The sky was shining bright that night
When I stepped outside my door
I glanced up at the darkening sky
As I’ve done on nights before
The barren trees with solemn faces
Made haven around my abode
I watched the sun say its last goodbye
Watched as the river flowed
The lanterns that lit up my home
Added a coziness to the view
The smell that filled the autumn sky
Brought back memories of me and you
I never really minded
How the nighttime sky brought peace
To the air and nature ‘round me
And made my fears now cease
I appreciate the twilight
For giving me something to remember
In the elegant beauty and inspiration
Know as a peaceful November
Forgiveness in the Twilight Hour
I’ve been walking with no hope in sight
I wish my past would erase
In this moment light shines slowly
Looks down on my disgrace
On this path I stop in motion
To see what beauty lies near
Nature releases its resources
Its branches so lithe and sheer
I fall down on my humble knees
And ask to erase my sin
I can’t control the pain I feel
I struggle to fight within
With the shadows now surrounding
And the light beams taking part
Forgive my wrongs, forgive me please
This burden inside my heart
I cry my tears of regret
I just need one final chance
The light shows me understanding
Shows me with its subtle glance
I walk away with a burden
Lifted slowly from my mind
That place where nature embraced
I will never leave behind
